About me
My journey with nutrition started a long time ago...
When I was 11 years old I decided to become pescatarian. It was then that my mum encouraged me to educate myself on healthy diet and how to get all of the nutrients I needed as a growing young person, from a mostly plant based diet.
I see now how lucky I was to grow up in a home where everybody cooked and most of the food came from our garden or local suppliers, it was easy for me to pick up all essential cooking skills and healthy eating habits from an early age. I watch with a great sadness how, nowadays, we so often tend to lose this natural connection with food and how difficult it is to teach this to our children.
Some time ago I created my instagram account @ smileyspoonfuls where I share a lot of colourful, simple recipes using seasonal and authentic ingredients. I realised then that I would love to use my lifelong passion in helping others.
In my practice I use science based nutrition, and I do not advocate fad diets. I strongly believe that eating should be enjoyable and that our physical health contributes in a big part to our mental wellbeing. In my opinion there is no one ideal way for humans to eat. I am open to getting to know your needs, habits, likes and dislikes to help you to come out with a plan that will be specifically tailored for you. I will support you with empathy, by providing evidence-based advice and encouragement.
