rarebit (*sort of) cheese twists
Ingredients
1 Ready Made Puff Pastry Sheet
1 cup Grated Cheddar
1 Egg
1 heaped tsp Wholegrain Chili Mustard (or wholegrain mustard and a pinch of cayenne pepper)
1 tbs Worcestershire Sauce
Method
To prepare the filling whisk an egg and mix it with cheddar and spices.
Roll puff pastry sheet in order to flatten it more and enlarge it slightly. Cut it in half. I recommend using pizza slicer to cut the pastry as it will not rip or misshape it.
On one of the halves of the pastry place all of the cheese filling and spread it evenly. Cover with the other half of the pastry. Press with your hand gently on the top sheet.
Cut out stripes roughly 1.5 cm thick. Use both hands to twist. Start from one end, twisting and lifting the stripes at the same time to avoid spilling the filling.
Place your twists on a large baking tray, lined with a baking parchment. Leave at least 1 cm gap between them.
Bake for 15 minutes in 200°C (fan assisted oven).
